Life after Ten Years
Life ten years from now I'm hoping to be done with college at that time. By than I want to have done complete the programs that are my goals. With that being said I should have my bachelor degree in Nursing and working my dream job as Travel Nurse or Forensic Nursing. I know I will always have continuing education and learning things to become experienced down the road. I want to be very experienced at not just my job but experienced as a Nurse also. Training will always take place due to maybe changing jobs or training on the different floor/unit. New credentials I've never took time to think about due to the fact I've just been taking one step at a time. Working the burn unit/OB I will learn to induce coma's and labors. To be a travel nurse you have to have two years experience in trauma or ICU and ten years from now I should have that completed which will be a huge impact, because I will than start my job as a Travel nurse.
My current job at the moment I'm a Qualified Medical Assistant which has restrictions on license's and that the main reason I attending college again to expand my scope of practice. With my new position I will be traveling seeing the world seeing new places and working with different patient all the time. Whereas, my current position as a QMA really doesn't change often working in the same building and seeing the same staff and patient daily. Being a travel nurse is very different because instead of working an 8 hour shift I could be gone for days at a time, which can be perfect due to the fact my children will be older (21 & 16) and can care for themselves. Comparing both job finically, becoming a nurse I will more than double my income. I will be able to afford to send both my children off to college.
I will have plenty of new job opportunities working outside of a nursing home is main goal. Working in a nursing home you don't get much of that think out the box experience that I'm looking for. I've always wanted to use my degree in different areas to become more experienced in every field such as the burn unit, Ob, and a trauma nurses having this degree will give me the opportunity to does that. Even better with this opportunity I will be able to work with actually doctor's to learn even more and witness amazing procedures.
Hoping with this education, I'm hoping to have a lot more time for my children and family. Being in college I've missed out on a lot programs, games, and family time. I will not continue to work full time so I can enjoy life a little bit more than being busy 24/7 and I can enjoy sleep for once. I wanted to be able to take more vacations and enjoy time on life not just work, school, and running around.
Ten years from now I wanted to settled in my career. I want to have my bachelor degree in nursing and traveling around the U.S. I've always wanted to continue my education on to my master's degree and Nurse Practitioner but that's a lot more schooling than I expected but I've always been up for a challenge. With one of the girls in college, the other is not to far behind her. So still this could be possible to do further in life maybe more than ten years out. These goals could forever change my life for the greater good.
